Songyan Yu

Postdoc, Department of Chemistry, Purdue University
Mei Group

Songyan is a postdoctoral researcher at Mei’s group in the Department of Chemistry at Purdue University. His expertise is on electroanalytical chemistry, design/characterization/ fabrication of organic semiconductor interfaces and electrochemical devices, and development of bioelectronics and immunoassays. His objective in SPECS is centered on exploring the mixed conduction mechanism and transport properties of novel n-type organic transparent conjugated conducting polymer and its durability in electrolytes. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry at Auburn University where he conducted research mainly in the development of electrochemical biosensors using bipolar electrode system and electrochemiluminescence under the direction of Prof. Curtis Shannon. Before joining Purdue, He worked at Ratcliff’s group in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering & Chemical & Environmental Engineering at the University of Arizona in 2020 as a postdoc researcher, focusing on the interface design and device physics of organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) and fabrication of wearable organic bioelectronics.
